If You Need To Pump And Supplement
When breastfeeding challenges arise like low milk supply, or a baby that isn’t latching or transferring milk well, doing a pumping and supplementing plan can be necessary in order to make sure baby is getting enough to eat and preserve the breastfeeding relationship. This video is a How-To Guide on what you need to know like how much milk a baby needs at each feeding, how to bring in a full milk supply with a pumping plan and how to know if baby is getting enough. We also review all the different ways to feed the supplemental milk back to baby. I’ll be providing handouts to use as references that you can access for free. Come see families from the Breastfeeding With Sarah Community who are also pumping and supplementing to learn the steps to get to your goal of exclusive breastfeeding.
These videos are not a replacement for seeing a lactation consultant in person. I will always try to help identify when one needs to be seen and give links on how to find one in your area for individualized and in-person support. These videos are also not providing medical advice, as each person’s situation is unique and needs to be evaluated by a medical professional in person.
